Precision Oxygen Feedback Sensor for Hyundai/Kia Engines ⚙️
This sensor is a key part of the exhaust and fuel control system. It is needed to measure oxygen level in the exhaust stream so the ECU can correct the air/fuel mixture in real time. When the mixture is right, you get smoother idle, better fuel economy, cleaner emissions, and stronger throttle response.
How It Works ?
The sensing element reacts to oxygen content before/after the catalytic converter (depending on position). It sends a voltage/signal the ECU reads instantly. The ECU then adjusts injector pulse and trims to keep combustion near optimal, protecting the catalytic converter and keeping the engine running efficiently.
What Happens If It Fails ?
A weak or dead sensor can cause the engine to run rich or lean. Common results include check engine light, higher fuel use, rough running, hesitation, black smoke, fuel smell, failed emission test, and possible catalytic converter damage over time. Ignoring it often leads to costly exhaust repairs.
