Clutch Control Cable Assembly (Right-Hand Drive) 🚗🔧
This clutch cable is a key link between your clutch pedal and the clutch release mechanism. It is needed to transmit your foot pressure into a smooth mechanical pull, so you can disengage the clutch and change gears cleanly. A good cable keeps pedal feel consistent and helps protect the clutch disc and gearbox synchros from harsh engagement.
How It Works ⚙️
When you press the pedal, the inner steel wire slides inside a low-friction outer sleeve. That pulling force moves the clutch fork/release arm, separating the clutch plate from the flywheel. The right-hand drive routing is shaped to match factory pedal box and firewall angles, reducing drag and cable binding.
Signs of Failure & What Happens If It Breaks ❗
A worn or stretched cable can cause a high pedal, poor adjustment, grinding into gear, or clutch slip due to incomplete engagement. If the cable frays or snaps, the pedal may drop to the floor and you may not be able to disengage the clutch—making shifting difficult or impossible and risking gearbox damage.
