Why you need it
With time, the pivot seat, spring, and bushings wear out. The lever gets loose, the gate feels vague, and dust or moisture can sneak in. Replacing the retainer restores solid feel, protects the mechanism, and preserves the transfer case.
How it works
A steel housing, spring-loaded seat, and bush components clamp and guide the shifter ball.
