This OEM-grade intake screen keeps your automatic gearbox safe by filtering clutch dust and metal fines from the ATF. With clean fluid, the pump holds pressure, solenoids react fast, and shift quality stays crisp. Itβs a small part that protects the whole transmission .
How it works
Mounted at the fluid pickup, a fine mesh traps debris before ATF reaches the pump and valve body. A sealed body and O-ring prevent air leaks, so the pump doesnβt cavitate. Consistent flow = stable line pressure = reliable shifts.
Why you need it
Over time, friction material and microscopic chips circulate in the oil. This strainer catches them, reducing wear on the valve body, torque converter, and bearings, and extending service life.
When it fails
Clogging or damage causes delayed engagement, flare or harsh shifts, pump whine, overheating, and limp mode. Ignoring it can score the valve body and burn clutches.
Install notes
Replace during ATF service. Clean pan and magnets, fit new seal, torque bolts evenly, and verify fluid level/temperature after refill.
