Throttle Position Sensor: Precision in Engine Performance βοΈ
Why Is This Sensor Essential
The throttle position sensor plays a critical role by monitoring the position of your carβs throttle valve. It sends real-time data to the engine control unit (ECU) to manage fuel injection and ignition timing. This ensures smooth acceleration, optimal fuel efficiency, and peak engine performance.
How Does It Operate
This part uses internal resistive tracks and a moving contact. As you press the accelerator, it measures the angle of the throttle blade and sends varying voltage signals to the ECU. The ECU uses this information to adjust the air-fuel mix.
What Happens If It Fails
If the sensor is damaged, you may notice poor acceleration, erratic idling, engine stalling, and illuminated check engine lights. Faulty data leads to incorrect fuel delivery, risking engine performance and safety.
