Transmission Control Cable Assembly ⚙️
This cable assembly is the physical link between your gear selector and the transmission lever. It is needed so your shift movements inside the cabin are transferred accurately to the gearbox, whether you select P-R-N-D or manual ranges (by model). Built with a low-stretch inner wire and a protective outer sheath, it keeps shifting smooth even with heat, road splash, and engine vibration.
How It Works ?️
When you move the shifter, the inner cable slides inside the housing and rotates/pulls the transmission selector arm. Correct length, end fittings, and bushings maintain proper adjustment so the gearbox lands exactly in the chosen gear position without binding.
If the Cable Is Worn or Broken ❗
A failing unit may cause hard shifting, a loose shifter feel, missed gears, or the car not engaging Drive/Reverse. In severe cases, the selector may get stuck, the vehicle may not start due to neutral safety mismatch, or the transmission may be between ranges—risking clutch/gear damage and unsafe roll-away.
