Gear Synchronizer Hub & Sleeve Set for Subaru Manual Gearbox ⚙️

Restore clean, precise shifting with this synchronizer hub and sliding sleeve set. It’s built for Subaru 5/6‑speed manuals to cure crunching shifts, pop‑outs, and gear grind. Heat‑treated steel, accurate splines, and true faces bring back factory feel and protect costly gears.

Why this part is needed ✅

Worn teeth, bent keys, or a chewed sleeve cause slow or noisy shifts and damage synchro rings. Replacing the set keeps shift force low, protects the gearset, and ensures confident engagement under load.

How it works

The hub is splined to the main shaft. The sleeve slides over the hub via the shift fork, locking the synchro teeth to the target gear after the brass rings match speeds. Keys and springs center the sleeve and control timing for smooth, silent engagement.

If the part is damaged ⚠️

Expect grinding into 1st/2nd, hard engagement, pop‑out on throttle, metallic noise, and metal chips in oil. Continued use can crack rings, round dog teeth, overheat bearings, and lead to loss of drive.

Tech tips

  • Inspect rings, keys, springs, and the shift fork; replace as a set if worn.
  • Deburr shaft splines and align orientation marks.
  • Use fresh 75W‑90 GL‑5 oil and torque to spec.
