4th Drive Gear Set for Subaru Manual Transmission ⚙️
This 4th drive gear set is a core part inside the manual gearbox that allows the car to run smoothly at mid-to-high road speeds with stable RPM. You need it when the original gear teeth are worn, chipped, or the gear engagement becomes noisy. In normal operation, the gear meshes with its mating gear on the shaft, transferring torque through the transmission while the synchronizer helps match speeds for clean shifting.
How It Works
When you select 4th gear, the synchronizer sleeve locks the gear to the shaft. The gear teeth then carry engine power through the gear pair, giving a balanced ratio for cruising and acceleration. Proper tooth shape and hardening keep the mesh quiet and strong under load.
If This Gear Is Damaged
