Front Transmission Cover Assembly
This front gearbox cover is the piece that seals the input shaft area and supports the clutch release path. It bolts to the transmission case, carries the input shaft oil seal, and works as a guide tube for the release bearing. Built from rigid alloy with a precise bore, it keeps gear oil inside and dirt outside—so your clutch and gears stay healthy.
Why this part is needed
It keeps the input bearing lubricated, holds the oil seal in the right position, and centers the release bearing travel. A tight, flat cover prevents leaks, smooths shifting, and protects the clutch from oil contamination. It’s a must-have for long gearbox life.
How it works ⚙️
The cover mates to the case with gasket or sealant. An integrated seal hugs the input shaft, stopping gear oil from escaping. The guide tube lets the throwout bearing slide freely. Correct alignment maintains shaft geometry and reduces noise and wear.
What happens if it’s damaged or worn ❗
Expect oil leaks, clutch slip or chatter, bearing howl, hard shifts, and heat buildup. Oil on the disc shortens clutch life. A warped face or loose fit can speed up input bearing failure and lead to costly transmission repairs.

Always install a fresh oil seal, clean mating surfaces, use the right torque, and lightly lube the guide tube. Check input shaft play, pilot bushing, and release bearing while you’re in there.
