Revolution Speed Sensor Assembly βš™οΈ

This sensor is needed to measure how fast a rotating shaft is spinning inside the drivetrain. The signal is used by the ECU/TCU to control shifting timing, torque converter lock-up, and overall driving smoothness. When the control unit knows true rotation speed, it can protect the transmission and keep fuel use stable.

How It Works ?

The sensor reads passing teeth or a trigger wheel and creates a pulsed electrical signal. As rotation increases, the pulse frequency rises. The control module converts this into RPM data and adjusts hydraulic pressure and shift strategy to match load and speed.

If the Sensor Fails ?

A bad unit can send no signal or an erratic signal. This may cause harsh or delayed shifts, limp mode, poor acceleration, wrong speed/RPM readings, increased heat, and warning lights. Long-term driving with incorrect RPM feedback can speed up clutch and valve body wear.
