Transmission Oil Strainer for Subaru AT ⚙️

This high-flow ATF strainer keeps your Subaru automatic gearbox clean, protecting the pump, valve body, and clutches from wear. Built for long service, it ensures steady oil pressure and smooth, predictable shifts .

Why you need it ️

During normal driving, ATF picks up clutch dust and tiny metal flakes. The strainer traps this debris before it reaches sensitive hydraulics. Clean fluid flow means cooler temps, longer transmission life, and stable shift quality.

How it works ️

A fine mesh element sits in the pan. The pump draws ATF through the mesh, which holds particles while allowing the required volume to pass. Correct sealing with its O-ring keeps the pump from sucking air and losing pressure.

When it fails ❗

Clogging raises pump vacuum, causing delayed engagement, flare or harsh shifts, overheating, and sometimes limp mode. A torn mesh lets debris reach solenoids and valves, accelerating wear and burning clutches. A leaking seal creates aeration and pressure loss.

Tech notes ️

Replace with each major ATF service or after repair. Install new pan gasket/O-ring, clean magnets, use the correct Subaru ATF, and torque pan bolts evenly. Fill to spec, cycle gears at idle, recheck level, and inspect for leaks.
