    This transmission oil pump is a critical hydraulic unit that keeps automatic gearbox oil moving under the correct pressure. It is needed to lubricate bushings and bearings, feed the valve body, and apply clutch packs smoothly. Without stable line pressure, an automatic transmission cannot shift or survive for long.

    How It Works βš™οΈ

    Driven by the transmission input, the pump draws ATF from the sump through the filter, then pushes it through internal passages. Pressure is regulated so the valve body can route fluid to clutches and bands at the right time. The same flow also removes heat by circulating oil through the cooler circuit.

    Signs of a Failing Pump ❗

    When the pump wears or cavitates, you may notice delayed engagement, slipping on acceleration, harsh or no upshifts, whining noise, or overheating.
