Why this part is needed

It separates engine power from the transmission so you can change gears without grinding. The bearing carries the load when you press the pedal, reducing friction on the pressure plate fingers and protecting the input shaft and fork.

How it works βš™οΈ

Press the clutch pedal β†’ the fork moves the bearing along the guide sleeve β†’ the bearing face pushes the diaphragm spring β†’ the clutch disk frees the gearbox. A sealed ball-race spins with minimal drag, keeping heat and noise low.

What if it’s worn or broken ❌

Expect squeal or chirp when the pedal is pressed, heavy or pulsating pedal, hard shifting, and burning smell. A seized unit can blue the pressure plate, bend the fork, and score the input shaft. In extreme cases, the clutch will not disengage, leaving the car unable to select gears. Replace early to avoid a full clutch and flywheel job.
