Clutch Release Fork Assembly for Toyota Vans

Why you need it

This lever is the key link between your clutch pedal and the transmission. It converts hydraulic push into precise movement at the release bearing so gears select smoothly, without grind. A healthy fork keeps pedal effort light, protects synchros, and prevents clutch drag. Built to OE geometry, it keeps the disc fully released at stops and extends clutch life.

How it works ⚙️

Mounted inside the bellhousing, the fork pivots on a ball stud. The slave cylinder pushrod presses the fork, which drives the release bearing against the pressure plate fingers. That action frees the clutch disc from the flywheel, allowing clean gear changes under load. Hardened tips and wear pads handle repeated high‑temperature cycles.

What happens if it fails ❗

Wear or bending causes hard pedal, chatter, and grinding into first or reverse. Cracks or a broken spring clip can leave the clutch stuck engaged, making shifting impossible and stalling likely. Continued use risks overheating the disc, damaging the bearing and pressure plate, and stressing gearbox synchros.

Pro install tips ✅

Always inspect/replace the pivot ball, spring clip, and boot. Lightly grease contact points with high‑temp moly. Pair with a new release bearing, check fork travel, and bleed the hydraulics for best feel.
