Clutch Release Fork Dust Boot ?οΈ
This protective boot seals the clutch release fork opening on the bell housing. It is needed to keep road dust, water, and mud away from the clutch fork pivot area and release bearing zone, helping the clutch system stay smooth and quiet.
How It Works βοΈ
The flexible rubber sleeve sits around the fork and housing edge, moving with the fork as you press the clutch pedal. It bends without tearing, maintaining a tight barrier while allowing full fork travel. This reduces contamination that can cause sticking or uneven clutch action.
What Happens If Itβs Broken β
If the boot cracks, hardens, or falls out, grime gets inside fast. That can lead to fork corrosion, noisy engagement, heavier pedal feel, and premature wear of the release bearing and clutch parts. In severe cases, the fork may bind and clutch release becomes unreliable.
When to Replace ?
Replace it if you see splits, missing edges, oil-soaked rubber, or if you notice clutch area dirt buildup after off-road or wet driving.
