Hydraulic clutch release cylinder (CSC) for manual Nissan drivetrains βš™οΈ

This unit is the heart of the hydraulic clutch system. It converts pedal pressure into smooth, controlled release of the clutch, giving clean shifts and light pedal feel. Built to OE geometry, it sits around the gearbox input shaft and works as a release bearing and slave in one compact body.

Why this part is needed βœ…

Without it, the clutch cannot disengage fully. A healthy CSC prevents gear grind, protects synchronizers, and keeps take-off smooth in traffic and on hills.

How it works

Pressing the pedal drives fluid from the master cylinder through the line into this concentric unit. Hydraulic pressure moves the internal piston forward. The integrated bearing presses the pressure plate’s diaphragm spring, separating the disc from the flywheel so you can shift.

What happens if it breaks ❌

Common signs: soft or sinking pedal, hard gear engagement, no release, fluid around the bellhousing, or squeal from a dry bearing. A leaking unit can soak the clutch disc, causing slip; continued driving risks burnt linings and synchro damage, and can leave you stranded.

Tech highlights

OE-grade seals (EPDM for brake fluid), precision bearing, rigid body for consistent stroke, bleed port for easy servicing. Use only DOT3/4 fluid. Always replace contaminated clutch parts, flush lines, and perform a careful bleed for a firm, reliable pedal.
