Why this part is needed
Without a healthy clutch disc, the transmission cannot receive power efficiently. The plate cushions engine pulses, protects gears, and prevents judder when moving off. It also reduces vibration to driveline parts and helps the pressure plate hold consistent clamp.
How it works
The hub splines slide onto the gearbox input shaft. Friction facings are clamped between flywheel and pressure plate. Torsion springs in the hub absorb shock, so engagement is smooth. When you press the pedal, the clamp is released; when you lift, the facings bite and drive the vehicle.
