    Immobilizer RF Antenna Module

    This smart reader is the heart of the anti-theft start system on select Nissan/Infiniti models. It identifies the keyā€™s transponder so the engine can start. The module creates a stable lowā€‘frequency field, wakes the chip inside your key or fob, captures its ID, and relays it to the BCM/immobilizer unit. Built for clean signal, fast recognition, and reliable starts in heat, cold, or electrical noise.

    Why you need it

    Without a healthy immobilizer antenna, the car will refuse start authorization. This part ensures quick key detection near the start button or ignition ring, preventing false ā€œkey not detectedā€ messages and saving time at every start.

    How it works āš™ļø

    A precision loop coil emits about 125 kHz to energize the keyā€™s transponder. The key modulates a return signal; the moduleā€™s amplifier filters and sends data to the control unit for cryptographic handshake. No battery in the key transponder is required for this step.

    If itā€™s broken āš ļø

    • No crank, or brief start then stall
    • ā€œKey Not Detected/Key ID Incorrectā€ on cluster
    • Flashing security light; intermittent start when moving the fob
    • Need to press fob against the start area to start
    • Stored DTCs (e.g., B2190/B2192)

    Fitting notes ļø

    Mounts around the ignition barrel or behind the start/stop switch; plugā€‘andā€‘play connector. After replacement, perform key registration/IMMU relearn with a scan tool. Route wiring away from heavy metal/magnets to avoid detuning.
