IPDM Control Module (Engine Bay Fuse & Relay Brain) ⚡
This electronic controller is the “decision maker” inside the under-hood power distribution unit. It is needed to manage power routing for key circuits, helping the vehicle start, run, and protect electrical loads from overloads. When your car demands power (starter signal, cooling fan request, fuel pump feed), this module commands relays and monitors inputs to deliver the right current at the right time.
How It Works ?
The module receives signals from sensors and the ECU, then switches relays and fuses indirectly by controlling coils and solid-state drivers. It also helps isolate faults, reducing the chance of melted wiring. In simple terms: it distributes battery power safely and turns high-current devices on/off without stressing switches inside the cabin.
Why Replacement Matters ?
If it fails, you may face random no-start, intermittent stalling, fans stuck on, fuel pump not priming, or multiple electrical items dying at once. A broken unit can also cause repeated fuse blowing, relay chatter, or parasitic drain that kills the battery overnight.
Common Failure Symptoms ✅
- No crank or crank-no-start
- Cooling fan runs constantly
- Intermittent power loss to engine circuits
- Unexplained fuse/relay failures
