Inner CV Joint Protective Boot (DOJ Type)

This driveline boot seals the inner CV/DOJ joint on your Subaru axle. It is needed to keep special grease inside the joint and to block water, dust, and road salt from getting in. ⚙️ When the axle moves up and down with suspension travel, the boot flexes like an accordion while staying tightly clamped, so the joint can slide and articulate smoothly without losing lubrication.

How It Works

The boot forms a flexible barrier around the joint housing. Inside, the grease coats the bearings and tracks, reducing friction and heat. The ribs allow repeated bending without tearing, even during sharp turns and hard acceleration.

Symptoms If the Boot Is Damaged

A split or loose boot throws grease onto the subframe and exhaust area 🛠️. Then grit enters the joint, causing clicking, vibration, or clunking. If ignored, the joint can seize or fail, leaving you with a disabled axle and possible transmission/driveline damage.

Why Replace on Time

Boot replacement is a smart preventive fix: it protects the CV joint, keeps the ride quiet, and avoids the higher cost of a complete axle assembly.
