Front Inner Drivetrain Joint Unit
This front inner joint unit is a key link between the transaxle and the front axle shaft. It is needed to transfer engine torque to the wheels while still allowing smooth movement as the suspension works and the steering angle changes. Without a healthy joint, power delivery becomes rough and unsafe βοΈ.
How It Works
Inside the unit, precision tracks and bearings guide the jointβs motion. It slides slightly in and out to handle suspension travel, while keeping constant rotation under load. Good grease and a sealed boot keep friction low, reduce heat, and stop dirt and water from entering β .
Why Replacement Matters
When the joint wears, you may notice clicking/knocking on acceleration, vibration at speed, or grease leaks near the inner axle area. If it breaks completely, the axle can lose drive to that wheel, leaving the car unable to move and potentially damaging the transmission output seal or housing β.
