How it works
The boot covers the joint with a tough elastomer sleeve and stainless clamps. As the axle articulates, the bellows expand and contract, maintaining a sealed cavity around the bearings while retaining high-temp grease.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Grease is flung out, dirt and water get in. You’ll hear clicking on turns, feel vibration under load, and the CV joint can seize or fail, potentially damaging the hub or axle. ABS warnings may appear if grease contaminates the tone ring.
