Inner CV Joint Boot for Subaru Axle Systems βοΈ
This heavyβduty elastomer boot seals the transmissionβside CV (plunging tripod) joint. It keeps grease in, blocks water, dust, and road salt, and protects the driveshaft from early wear. Built for OE fit, it resists heat, ozone, and flexing in all seasons.
Why this part is needed οΈ
A healthy inner joint boot preserves the tripod bearings and housing. Replacing a split or aged boot is far cheaper than buying a complete shaft. It restores lubrication control and extends CV joint life.
How it works
The ribbed bellows flex with suspension travel and axle plunge. Tight clamps lock both ends to the joint tulip and shaft. Packed grease circulates around the trunnions, reducing friction and heat while maintaining smooth torque transfer.
What happens if itβs broken β οΈ
Grease flings out, contaminants enter, and the joint runs dry. Youβll notice clicks on takeβoff, shudder under load, tornβboot smell near the exhaust, and eventually severe play. Neglect leads to joint seizure and loss of drive.
Tech tips β
Clean the tulip thoroughly, repack with highβmoly grease, align shaft marks, and crimp both clamps evenly. After installation, roadβtest and inspect for any grease sling.
