Cabin Temperature Thermistor Sensor for Auto A/C ❄️?️

This in-car temperature probe feeds the HVAC computer with precise cabin air data so your automatic climate control can hit the set point quickly and keep it steady. It keeps the compressor, blend doors, and blower working in balance for comfort, clear windows, and efficient operation.

How it works

Inside is an NTC thermistor: as air warms, its electrical resistance drops; as air cools, resistance rises. A small aspirator draws cabin air across the element. The HVAC module reads the signal and adjusts A/C, heater core flow, and vent mix in real time.

Why you need it

Accurate sensing prevents temperature swings, short cycling, and foggy glass. It helps reduce fuel/electrical load and protects the A/C system from icing or overheating.

What happens if it’s faulty ⚠️

Expect erratic temps (too hot/too cold), weak defog, loud fan at odd times, elevated energy use, and stored HVAC codes. The module may default to a fixed value, stressing the compressor and making comfort unpredictable.

Tech install notes ?

Disconnect battery, remove trim, unplug unit, swap sensor without touching the tip, then clear codes and run HVAC self-calibration.
