π§ ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Repair Unit
This repair unit is used in the Subaru brake control system to restore a clean wheel speed signal. It is needed when the original sensor circuit, connector, or pickup section is damaged, corroded, or giving unstable readings. A correct signal helps the ABS, traction control, stability control, and all-wheel drive logic work safely.
βοΈ How It Works
The sensor reads wheel rotation from the magnetic tone ring or encoder near the hub. As the wheel turns, it sends small electronic pulses to the ABS control module. The module compares all wheel speeds and adjusts brake pressure when it sees locking, slipping, or uneven rotation.
π¨ What Happens If It Fails?
A broken or weak sensor may switch on the ABS, VDC, or traction warning lights. You may lose anti-lock braking support, hill assist, cruise functions, or stability correction. In some cases the car can brake unevenly on wet roads, and diagnostic trouble codes will be stored.
β Technician Note
Always check the wiring route, hub encoder surface, and connector seal before fitting. Keep the sensor tip clean and avoid pulling the cable during installation.
