Lighting Control Switch Assembly for Nissan Classics
This steering-column lighting control switch restores factory operation of your headlight system. It manages parking lamps, low/high beam selection, flash-to-pass, and often instrument illumination. Built to OE-spec for a clean plug-and-play fit, it brings back crisp detents and reliable contacts, ideal for safe night driving and inspection readiness.
Why you need it
Older switches suffer worn detents, burnt copper paths, and melted plugs from years of heat and arcing. The result is flicker, weak beams, or no lights at all. A fresh headlight switch gives stable current flow, precise beam changeover, and consistent dashboard lighting.
How it works
Inside the lever, a sliding wiper bridges plated tracks to command relays and dimmer circuits. The cam selects low/high beam, while a spring-loaded momentary path handles flash-to-pass. Low-current signals trigger the headlamp relay, protecting the stalk from heavy load.
What happens if it breaks β οΈ
Common symptoms: dead headlights, only parking lights working, high beam stuck or wonβt engage, dash lights out, hot or discolored connector, intermittent lighting at bumps, and in some cars, shared-stalk signal issues. Driving at night can become unsafeβreplace before failure escalates.
Install tips β
Disconnect battery, remove column shroud, unclip harness, swap unit, seat connector fully, and test park/low/high/flash. Avoid forcing the hub; align tabs carefully.
