Steering Column Light Control Switch

This combo light stalk is the driverโ€™s main control for headlights, side/parking lamps, high/low beam, and flash-to-pass. It delivers precise switching so you can change beams without taking a hand off the wheel. Built with durable copper tracks and spring contacts, it feeds clean signals to the lamp circuits and headlight relays for bright, stable illumination.

Why this part is needed โœ…

Safe night driving depends on reliable light control. A healthy switch keeps visibility high, prevents relay arcing, and ensures your vehicle stays road-legal. It also coordinates dash illumination and, on many trims, integrates the indicator lever for seamless control.

How it works

The rotary collar selects OFF/PARK/HEAD. Pull or push toggles the dimmer for high/low beam, while a spring return provides flash-to-pass. Inside, a cam moves sliding contacts across printed paths, routing 12V to the correct circuits. The design minimizes resistance and heat for long life.

What happens if it breaks โš ๏ธ

  • No low beam or high beam stuck on
  • Lights flicker on bumps or cut out
  • Dash lights dead or wonโ€™t switch off
  • Intermittent flash/indicator functions
  • Burning smell, hot stalk, or battery drain

Service notes

Disconnect the battery, remove column shrouds, undo the two mounting screws, unplug the harness, swap the unit, align the locating tab, and test all positions. Use dielectric grease on the connector. No coding required.
