This interior fan unit is the heart of your vehicle’s HVAC airflow. It is needed to push air through the heater core and AC evaporator so the cabin can warm up, cool down, and defog the windshield quickly. Without a strong blower, even a perfectly charged AC system will feel weak at the vents.
How it works ⚙️
When you select fan speed, the HVAC control sends power to the motor. The impeller spins inside the housing, drawing air through the cabin filter area and forcing it across the climate system, then out to your dash and floor vents. Higher speed means more current and faster rotation for stronger airflow.
Signs of failure & what happens if it’s broken ❌
A failing unit may squeal, vibrate, smell hot, or only run on certain speeds. If it stops completely, you can lose defrost performance, cabin comfort, and airflow circulation, which can cause fogged glass and unsafe visibility. In severe cases, worn bearings or electrical resistance can overheat the connector and damage the blower resistor or wiring.
