Hazard Light Switch Assembly โ€” Reliable Emergency Signaling for Nissan 4x4s

Why you need it

This dashboard push-button controls your emergency flashers, the lights everyone expects to see when you stop, tow, or warn other drivers. A healthy switch keeps you visible in bad weather, at roadside repairs, and during offโ€‘road recoveries. Itโ€™s also required for inspection in many regions.

How it works

Pressing the latching button routes 12V from the fuse to the flasher relay and then to both left and right indicator circuits at the same time. The internal contacts are copper pads moved by a spring and cam. Many Nissan layouts pass turn-signal power through this unit, so its contact quality affects indicators too. Backlighting and a clear icon make it easy to find at night.

What happens if it fails

Common signs: no hazards, weak or intermittent flashing, stuck-on lights, blown fuse, or dead turn signals. With burned or oxidized contacts, the relay cannot cycle correctly, which risks a night breakdown with no warning lights and possible battery drain if the button jams.

Install tips ๏ธ

Disconnect battery, gently remove the trim bezel, unplug the multi-pin connector, snap in the new switch until it clicks, reconnect, and test. Plug-and-play fit; no coding.
