How it works
An aluminum mini-radiator routes return fuel through fine channels and cooling fins. Airflow under the vehicle wicks heat; some versions use a small coolant jacket. Pressure drop stays low by design, so rail control remains quick and accurate. Cooler fuel returns to the tank and rail, keeping performance repeatable.
If it’s damaged or clogged ⚠️
Expect hard hot starts, loss of power, rough idle, injector noise, fuel smell or leaks, and higher consumption. Bent fins, internal blockage, or cracked unions raise fuel temps and can trigger rail-pressure faults or limp mode. Prolonged overheating accelerates pump and injector wear.
