Why this part is needed
This unit keeps the V‑ribbed (serpentine) belt at the correct tension so engine accessories work right. With steady tension, your alternator charges, power steering stays light, A/C stays cold, and the coolant pump (if belt driven) moves flow as designed. How it works ⚙️
A pre‑loaded spring inside the housing presses an arm that carries a sealed bearing pulley. As the belt stretches and loads change, the arm pivots and self‑adjusts, holding constant tension.
