Premium Engine RPM Sensor ⚙️
This engine speed sender reads crankshaft rotation and feeds a clean RPM signal to the control system and the dash tachometer. With a correct pulse, the engine gets stable idle, precise fueling, and clean starts. It’s a direct-fit unit built to OE standards for long life and exact readings, even in heat, dust, and vibration.
Why your vehicle needs it
The powertrain needs accurate RPM to time injection, manage glow/preheat logic, control idle-up, and coordinate transmission shifts. The cluster uses the same signal for the tach. A healthy sensor protects fuel economy, torque response, and emissions.
How it works
A magnetic pickup faces a toothed ring on the flywheel or crank. As teeth pass, the sensor generates AC pulses (or Hall square waves). The ECU counts those pulses to calculate RPM and crank position. Shielded wiring reduces noise, keeping the signal stable under load.
What happens if it’s broken ❗
- Hard start or no start, especially hot
- Stalling, rough idle, misfire-like shake
- Dead or erratic tachometer
- Limp mode, poor shifts, rich/black smoke
- Check Engine light, stored RPM signal codes
Tip: Inspect connector pins and gap to the tone wheel. Replace sensor if resistance or waveform is out of spec.
