Why this part is needed
This injector feeds the engine with a fine, timed spray of diesel. It keeps power strong, fuel use low, and emissions clean. In hard-working Toyota pickups and SUVs, a healthy injector means smooth starts, quiet idle, and confident towing. Replacing a tired unit restores throttle response and protects the turbo, DPF, and catalytic systems.
How it works ⛽
Controlled by the ECU, a tiny solenoid/valve opens for milliseconds while rail pressure stays very high. Fuel is atomized through a precision nozzle, forming a clean cone that burns fully. Multiple pilot and main injections reduce knock and smoke, giving the Hilux and Land Cruiser Prado crisp torque with minimal vibration.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
Clogging or leakage causes rough idle, hard starting, black/white smoke, diesel knock, poor economy, and loss of power. You may see a check-engine light, fuel in oil, or soot loading in the DPF. Long-term misfire can damage pistons and the turbo. Replace at once if return flow is high or spray pattern is uneven.
