Engine Connecting Rod Assembly for Hyundai/Kia

This OEM-grade connecting rod links the piston to the crankshaft, turning the piston’s up‑down motion into smooth rotation. Built from high-strength steel, precisely honed at both ends, and designed to run on a stable oil film, it keeps your engine balanced and reliable under load.

Why you need it

Replace the rod when bearings are scored, the big end is out-of-round, or after oil starvation, overheating, or a knock event. A fresh, dimensionally correct rod restores proper clearances, quiet operation, and oil pressure, protecting the crank and piston.

How it works

The small end pivots on the piston pin; the big end clamps around the crank journal with bearing shells. Engine oil flows through galleries to form a protective film. Correct bolt tension and cap alignment keep the journal round for long service life.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

  • Cold-start knock or deep metallic rattle under load
  • Low oil pressure and metal flakes in the sump
  • Vibration, misfire, and loss of power
  • Severe cases: spun bearing, thrown rod, cracked block

Always use new rod bolts and match bearings to the journal size. Check crank runout and oil clearances during install for best results.
