Hydraulic Clutch Master Unit β Precise Pedal Control βοΈ
This OEM-grade hydraulic clutch master unit restores clean pedal feel and smooth gear changes. It is a key part of the clutch hydraulics. Without it, the pedal force will not reach the release fork correctly, and shifting becomes hard or noisy.
Why this part is needed
It converts your foot pressure into hydraulic pressure. That pressure moves fluid to the slave cylinder, disengaging the clutch plate. The result is quiet, controlled shifts and stable pedal height under load.
How it works
Inside is a piston, primary seal, spring, and fluid reservoir. Press the pedal: the feed port closes, pressure builds, and fluid travels through the line to the slave. Release the pedal: the return spring opens the compensation port, fluid returns, and the system equalizes.
What happens if it fails β οΈ
Soft or sinking pedal, gear grind, hard engagement, clutch drag, or no release. Look for fluid loss at the firewall, damp carpet, aerated or dark fluid, and external leaks. Continued driving risks synchro wear and overheated release components.
Tech tips β
Bench-bleed before install, use fresh DOT 3/4 fluid, flush the line, inspect hose and pushrod length, and torque fittings to spec. Re-bleed after a short road test.
