Exhaust O2 Sensor for Subaru – Precise Fuel Control ⚙️

Why you need it ✅

This lambda sensor keeps your Subaru boxer engine clean and efficient. It constantly reports exhaust oxygen levels to the ECU, so the system can hold the ideal 14.7:1 air–fuel ratio. Accurate feedback means smooth power, lower emissions, protected catalytic converter, and better fuel economy.

How it works

A heated ceramic element reaches operating temp fast, compares exhaust oxygen to outside air, and outputs a switching signal (about 0.1–0.9 V). The ECU uses this signal for closed‑loop control, adjusting short‑ and long‑term fuel trims to match load, altitude, and temperature.

What happens if it’s broken

Expect Check Engine light, rough idle, sluggish throttle, hard starts, poor MPG, sulfur smell, soot on tailpipe, and possible catalyst damage. Scan tools may show slow response, stuck rich/lean, or fuel trim codes. Emissions test can fail due to elevated CO/HC.

Install notes ️

Direct‑fit connector and sealed threads. Install on a cool exhaust, avoid touching the tip, apply a small amount of anti‑seize to threads only, torque to spec, then clear trims and codes for best results.
