This air flow measuring sensor is a key input for the ECU to calculate the correct fuel dose. It is needed whenever the engine must keep a stable idle, smooth acceleration, and clean emissions. A healthy sensor helps your car start easier, pull better, and save fuel.

How It Works βš™οΈ

Mounted in the intake stream, it reads the amount of air entering the engine using a precision sensing element. The signal is sent to the ECU, which adjusts injector timing and fuel quantity in real time. This keeps the air-fuel mixture close to ideal under different loads and temperatures.

When It Fails ❗

If the sensor becomes dirty or damaged, the ECU receives wrong airflow data. Common results are rough idle, hesitation, poor throttle response, higher fuel consumption, black smoke, engine warning light, and even stalling. Long-term driving with incorrect mixture can stress the catalytic converter and spark plugs.
