Exhaust Gas Temperature Probe – OE-fit for Mitsubishi Turbo/DPF systems
This sensor tracks exhaust heat in the hot stream near the turbocharger and particulate filter. With a stainless probe, fast-response element, and sealed plug, it feeds precise data to the ECU so the engine can stay powerful, clean, and protected.
Why this part is needed
The ECU uses exhaust heat readings to protect the turbo, prevent head damage, and manage DPF regeneration. Accurate temperature data helps control fueling and EGR, keeps emissions within limits, and stabilizes power while reducing fuel use.
How it works
Inside is a heat-sensitive thermistor. As temperature rises, its resistance changes. The ECU converts that change into a temperature value and adjusts boost, injection timing, and DPF burn cycles. A fast reaction curve ensures stable operation even under heavy load.
What happens if it fails ⚠️
Expect warning lights, limp mode, poor throttle response, failed DPF regeneration, high fuel consumption, and possible turbo overheating. The ECU may run rich or overly safe, causing soot buildup and higher exhaust temps—risking costly repairs.
