Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for Subaru

This precision ECT sensor keeps your Subaru’s brain (ECU) informed of real engine temperature. With correct data, the ECU manages fuel mix, ignition timing, idle speed, and radiator fan logic. Result: smooth cold starts, strong drivability, clean emissions, and solid fuel economy ⚙️.

Why you need it

Temperature is the master signal for warm‑up enrichment and fan control. A healthy sensor prevents over‑fueling on hot drives, avoids lean stumble in cold weather, and protects the engine from heat stress .

How it works

Inside is an NTC thermistor. The ECU sends a 5V reference; resistance drops as coolant warms, changing the return voltage. The ECU converts that signal into actual temperature to adjust fueling and switch fans. A sealed tip and OE‑style threads ensure quick thermal response and leak‑free fit.

What happens if it’s bad ❗

  • Hard cold starts, rough idle, stalling
  • Poor MPG and fuel smell (runs too rich)
