This exhaust heat sensor is a key guardian for your Subaru’s emissions and turbo/exhaust safety. It is needed to measure real exhaust gas temperature so the ECU can fine-tune fueling and protect catalytic converter parts from overheating.
How it works ⚙️
The sensing tip sits in the exhaust stream and changes its electrical signal as temperature rises or falls. The ECU reads this value in real time, then adjusts air-fuel mix and can trigger protection strategies when temperatures climb too high.
Why replacing a faulty one matters ✅
