Why you need it 🚗
The ECU uses manifold pressure to calculate engine load. Correct load means precise injection, timing, AVCS/VVT control, and boost management on turbo models. Replacing a tired unit improves throttle feel, economy, and reliability.
How it works
Inside is a sensitive piezo-resistive chip that converts pressure to a stable 0.5–4.5 V signal. The ECU reads this signal thousands of times per second to adjust fueling and spark. A molded body, sealed connector, and O-ring keep heat and vacuum under control. Plug-and-play, no tuning required. ✅
If it fails ❗
Expect hard starts, rough idle, hesitation, poor power, high fuel use, black smoke, or limp mode. Check Engine may show P0106, P0107, or P0108. A cracked seal can also cause vacuum leaks and whistling.
Install tips
Disconnect battery, locate sensor on the manifold, unplug, remove screws, replace O-ring, refit and gently torque. Clear codes and perform idle relearn. Use only sensor-safe cleaner on the port if needed.
