Throttle Position Switch for Nissan ?β‘
This small sensor is vital for smooth driving. It tells the ECU when the throttle is closed, partly open, or wide open, so the engine can choose the correct fuel and ignition timing. Without a correct signal, the car may feel lazy, jerky, or waste fuel.
Why this part is needed
The engine needs an accurate βthrottle angleβ reference to control idle speed, acceleration response, and automatic transmission shift behavior (when fitted). This switch helps keep the engine stable at low RPM and responsive when you press the pedal ?
How it works
Mounted on the throttle body, it changes its electrical contact/position as the throttle plate moves. The ECU reads this change instantly and adjusts injector pulse and timing to match driver demand.
What happens if itβs broken
- Unstable idle or stalling at stops
- Hesitation or flat spots during acceleration
- High fuel consumption and rough running
- Delayed or harsh shifting (some setups)
- Check Engine light may appear
Compatibility β
- 6 Wagon
