Carburetor Heat Shield Gasket
Why This Part is Essential
The carburetor heat insulator plays a key role in preventing engine heat from transferring to the carburetor. This stops fuel from evaporating or “boiling” inside the carburetor, ensuring consistent performance and smooth engine running.
How It Works
Positioned between the carburetor and intake manifold, the insulator is typically made of heat-resistant material. It acts as a barrier, decreasing heat transfer and keeping the carburetor at the correct operating temperature for optimal fuel-air mixing.
What If It’s Broken
If the insulator gets damaged or wears out, you may notice hard starting, rough idling, or stalling—especially when the engine is hot. Prolonged exposure to heat can also cause fuel leaks and damage other engine components.
