Automatic transmissions rely on clean, cool fluid to control pressure and friction. The cooler removes excess heat so the oil stays stable, preventing burn smell, harsh shifts, and early transmission failure.

How it works βš™οΈ

Hot transmission fluid flows through the cooler core while air (and/or engine coolant depending on design) pulls heat away. Cooled fluid then returns to the transmission, keeping operating temperature in the correct range and maintaining consistent hydraulic pressure.

What happens if it’s damaged ?

A blocked or leaking cooler can cause overheating, delayed engagement, slipping, shudder, and warning lights. In severe cases, the fluid burns, clutch packs glaze, and the transmission may require a full rebuild. If there is an internal leak, contamination can spread and destroy bearings and valve body parts fast.
