Distributor Breaker Lead Wire for Toyota Ignition System β‘
This ignition lead wire connects the distributor breaker points to the ignition coil circuit, carrying a clean low-voltage trigger signal. Itβs a small part, but itβs vital for stable spark timing and smooth engine running.
Why This Part Is Needed β
Inside the distributor, constant heat, vibration, and rotor movement can stress wiring. A fresh lead ensures the breaker points signal reaches the coil without loss, keeping combustion consistent and fuel use under control.
How It Works ?
As the distributor cam opens and closes the breaker points, the lead wire transfers that switching signal. The coil then builds and releases high voltage to the spark plugs at the correct moment. Good insulation prevents shorts to ground and avoids electrical noise.
What Happens If Itβs Broken β
A damaged lead can cause intermittent spark, hard starting, misfires, rough idle, hesitation, backfiring, or complete no-start. Cracked insulation may short inside the distributor, burning points faster and causing unstable ignition timing.
