Ignition Coil Rubber Boot (Insulator)

This coil-on-plug boot seals the high-voltage path between the ignition coil and the spark plug. Built from heat- and oil-resistant silicone, it prevents arc-over, keeps moisture out, and stabilizes the spark for clean combustion. A fresh boot restores strong ignition performance and protects the coil from stress.

Why this part is needed βœ…

Without a tight dielectric seal, energy leaks to the cylinder head instead of the plug gap. The result is weak or missing sparks, hard starting, higher fuel use, and rising emissions. A quality boot keeps voltage focused where it belongs.

How it works βš™οΈ

The boot slides over the coil nose and the plug terminal. Inside, a spring/terminal bridges the connection. The ribbed exterior locks out water and dust; the insulating body guides 20–40 kV directly to the plug. A thin film of dielectric grease improves sealing and aids future service.

When the boot is bad ❗

Cracks, carbon tracks, or swollen rubber cause misfire at idle or under load, Check Engine light (P030x), rough running, and coil overheating. Ignoring it can damage the catalytic converter and shorten coil and plug life.

Install tips ️

Blow out plug wells, inspect springs, replace boots in sets, and apply a small amount of dielectric grease. Ensure plugs are correctly torqued.
