Idle-Up Vacuum Hose (No.3) for Toyota/Lexus ?

This small rubber vacuum hose is a key link in the engine idle-up system. It is needed to route controlled vacuum/air signal between the idle-up control circuit and related actuators, helping the engine keep a steady idle when extra load appears (A/C on, power steering load, cold start). Even though it looks simple, it prevents hesitation and stalling during low RPM operation.

How It Works βœ…

The hose carries vacuum from one port to another, allowing the idle-up valve or control unit to react quickly. When vacuum is stable and leak-free, the ECU and idle-up components can raise idle speed smoothly, keeping the engine from dipping too low.

When the Hose Is Cracked or Leaking ⚠️

If the hose is split, hard, loose, or collapsing, it creates a vacuum leak. That can cause rough idle, hunting RPM, stalling at stops, weak idle-up response with A/C, higher fuel use, and possible lean-mixture fault codes. Prolonged leaks may also stress the throttle body and idle control parts.
