Engine Radiator Coolant Hose (No.2 position)
This molded coolant line links the engine and radiator on the secondary circuit, keeping temperatures stable under heavy load and off‑road use. Made from EPDM rubber with textile reinforcement, it resists heat, ozone, and oil splash, holds shape in tight bends, and prevents kinks. The result is steady flow, correct system pressure, and reliable cooling efficiency. ❄️♨️
Why you need it
Rubber hardens and cracks with age (often 5–8 years). Replacing this hose prevents leaks, overheating, and roadside breakdowns. It protects the water pump, thermostat, and head gasket, and keeps the heater core performing.
How it works
When the thermostat opens, the pump drives coolant through this line to the radiator to shed heat. The hose flexes with engine movement yet resists collapse under suction during throttle lift, maintaining a sealed, pressurized path.
If it’s damaged
Signs include damp joints, coolant crust, sweet odor, bulges, soft spots, temp gauge swings, weak cabin heat, or steam. A split hose can dump coolant fast—leading to detonation, warped heads, or engine seizure. ⚠️
Install notes
Use new clamps, clean necks, match molded orientation, top with the correct coolant, bleed air, torque clamps evenly, and recheck after warm‑up. Avoid sealants. ✅
