Coolant Expansion Reservoir for Toyota Bus Cooling System

Why you need this part

This coolant reservoir (also called expansion tank or overflow bottle) keeps your engine safe by holding extra coolant as it heats up and expands. It stabilizes pressure, prevents air pockets, and keeps the radiator filled to the brim. A healthy tank reduces overheating risk, protects the water pump and head gasket, and stops coolant loss. Built to OEM geometry for a clean, direct fit and tidy under‑hood routing.

How it works

As temperature rises, coolant moves through the small return hose into the bottle. The pressure cap regulates flow and pressure, then on cooldown the system draws fluid back, keeping the circuit full and air‑free. Clear level marks make checks simple (MIN/MAX). Correct spigots and mounts align with factory hoses, ensuring a tight seal and reliable thermal cycling every drive.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Cracks, a warped neck, or a weak cap cause leaks, sweet coolant smell, rising temp gauge, heater fade, or frequent top‑ups. Air enters, boiling starts, and you risk warped heads, blown gaskets, or a starved water pump. Replace at the first signs of stress whitening, micro‑fractures, sludge, or a stuck cap. Install with a fresh cap and clamp, bleed the system, and refill with the correct coolant mix .
