This electric motor is the driving force behind the radiator cooling fan. It is needed to keep engine temperature stable in traffic, hot weather, or whenever the A/C is running. When airflow through the radiator is not enough, this unit spins the fan to pull fresh air across the cooling fins and help remove heat fast.
